Modern manufacturing of aircraft components
OUR HIGHLY MODERN MACHINE PARK
RO-RA TAKES THE LEADING ROLE IN THE AVIATION INDUSTRY!
Our machinery includes state-of-the-art turning and milling machines. With our turning centers we currently process workpieces up to 300mm diameter with high efficiency and accuracy. Our 5-axis milling centers process blanks up to a maximum of 850mm x 700mm x 500mm. In addition to the machining of stainless steel and aluminum, we have specialized in the machining of high-strength nickel-based alloys thanks to our many years of experience. Thanks to simultaneous machining, highly complex shapes and gears can be produced with high dimensional accuracy.
DIGITALIZATION AND AUTOMATION IN MANUFACTURING
The automation in all our plants enables cost-efficient production and flexibility. The automated centers are flexible units, which were partly developed and programmed in-house. This gives us the competence to industrialize and serialize the optimal production concept for our customers.
The state-of-the-art machining centers enable us to read, record and analyze machine data, so that we can use all resources (e.g. tools) efficiently and sustainably and continuously optimize our production.
ROTARY SWAGING PROCESS FOR THE PRODUCTION OF TENSION AND COMPRESSION RODS
LOWER WEIGHT WITH SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER STRENGTH
We use the rotary swaging process for the production of tension and compression bars. A decisive advantage of this technology is that it is a cold forming process, which allows a continuous elongated grain direction in the direction of the metal flow in the workpiece. True to the idea of lightweight construction, the components have significantly higher strengths than conventionally manufactured tension and compression rods, while being lighter in weight.
AUTOMATED ASSEMBLY ACTIVITIES AT RO-RA
Assembly steps are optimized thanks to the use of automation which enables us to be competitive. Critical assembly processes – such as bonding, surface applications, etc. – are approved by our customers according to the standards.
